A closer look at SOS Galgos
SOS Galgos is a Spanish rescue dedicated to the galgo, Spain's most abused dog breed. Founded in 2000 by Anna Clements and Albert Sorde near Barcelona, their rescue and education centre in Santa Coloma de Cervello has given new lives to more than 3,000 galgos, while campaigning to change the laws that fail them.
their mission
Care that changes lives
Rescue, rehabilitate and responsibly rehome galgos abandoned or mistreated after being used for hunting in Spain - while teaching animal welfare and empathy to children and young people at their Rescue and Education Centre, and campaigning for the laws that finally protect them.
what they need now
Where support matters
Funding for rescues. Regular donations let SOS Galgos reach galgos in danger of being abandoned by their hunters and pull abandoned dogs off the streets, then cover their recovery and rehoming - more donors, more galgos saved.
